About the Volkswagen Tiguan
Last updated Jun 07, 2024Before the arrival of the all new model next year, for 2024 Volkswagen Australia is removing all diesel variants from its Tiguan line-up and adding more safety tech to Elegance and R-Line variants.
Also not returning for 2024 are the special Tiguan R Grid Edition and Monochrome models.
All models returning for 2024 receive price increases of between $1100 and $2600, which on some variants is partially offset by additional standard equipment.
For 2024, the current Tiguan Elegance and R-Line gain blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which had been removed due to component shortages in 2022.
A power tailgate becomes standard for Elegance and R-Line models, previously a $600 option. Customers purchasing the Life can choose to option a power tailgate for $600.

Compare
Interior
Built like a bank vault, the Tiguan now offers crisper digitised displays as well, which keeps it contemporary, although the ventilation and steering wheel controls on high grades are too clever by half.
Despite its compact dimensions, the back seats are pretty roomy and adult-friendly, and likewise the boot is larger than you'd expect – although there's no full-size spare wheel.
Exterior
It's subtle and conservative in terms of design, but with the R-Line's big alloy wheels looks quite muscular and imposing.
