Volkswagen Australia is offering a $2000 discount for buyers of its most popular Tiguan variant, but only until the end of the financial year.

All examples of the Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI R-Line purchased before June 30, 2024 will be eligible for the $2000 cashback offer, though this only applies to the five-seat model and not the larger, seven-seat Tiguan Allspace.

Both models are usually priced at $60,590 before on-road costs.

Below is a list of drive-away prices for the Tiguan 162 R-Line in each Australian jurisdiction before the cashback offer is applied.

    State/territoryPrice
    Northern Territory$65,182
    Queensland$65,235
    South Australia$65,638
    Tasmania$65,718
    New South Wales$65,962
    Australian Capital Territory$66,126
    Victoria$66,190
    Western Australia$67,520

The $2000 bonus offsets most of the cost of certain options, such as the optional panoramic sunroof ($2100).

The 162TSI R-Line is also available with a Sound and Vision package ($2750) which adds a surround-view camera, Harman Kardon sound system and head-up display.

Non-standard metallic or pearl and premium metallic paint finishes are available for an extra $900 and $1100, respectively.

Powering the Volkswagen Tiguan 162TSI R-Line is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 162kW of power and 350Nm of torque.

Drive is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Last month, Volkswagen Australia cut the prices of its Tiguan Allspace to align with the regular Tiguan, which applies not only to the R-Line but all other variants shared between the two models.

A new-generation Volkswagen Tiguan is due in Australia throughout the first quarter of next year (January to March inclusive), headlined by a flagship 195TSI R-Line which brings the SUV into line with the power outputs of the Golf GTI and Skoda Octavia RS.
