Mitsubishi launched its new-generation Triton earlier this year only as a dual-cab ute, but there are more options coming to Australia.
Cab-chassis Triton models, along with a Club Cab ute body, are expected late in the first half of 2025 according to a Mitsubishi Motors Australia spokesperson.
That’s despite the Club Cab ute having previously been confirmed to launch alongside dual-cab ute models, with pricing even being announced for a single GLX+ 4×4 Club Cab earlier this year.
The company did say at the time, however, that cab-chassis models would follow later.

Mitsubishi has yet to reveal the cab-chassis version of the new Triton.
The company says it wanted to focus on launching dual-cab ute models, and it has also been able to lean on continued availability of the previous-generation model in cab-chassis guise.
The previous Triton is still available exclusively in cab-chassis guise in base GLX trim, either as a single cab, Club Cab or dual cab.
The latest government approval documents list two different Club Cab utes, one with a manual transmission and one with an automatic.
As with all existing dual-cab models, these pack the 150kW turbo-diesel 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine and offer a braked towing capacity of 3500kg.
It’s worth noting these approval documents are known to include variants that don’t necessarily end up going on sale. For example, in the Triton documents we can see a rear-wheel drive GSR, something highly unlikely to be introduced.
Cab-chassis options are common in this segment, with the Ford Ranger, GWM Cannon Ute, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, Nissan Navara and Toyota HiLux all offering the option.
The Triton Club Cab features two doors but with more space behind the front seats than in a single-cab ute. When it arrives, it’ll go up against the Ford Ranger Super Cab, Isuzu D-Max Space Cab, Mazda BT-50 Freestyle, Nissan Navara King Cab and Toyota HiLux Extra Cab.
In addition to the new (for this generation) body styles, Mitsubishi is also set to expand its dual-cab ute lineup with a blacked-out GLX-R model.
