Jeep
The American 4x4 specialist was first founded in the 1940s to make war vehicles, and now manufactures a range of off-road and crossover models forming part of the Fiat Chrysler Automotive group.
Iconic model lines include the Wrangler, Cherokee and Grand Cherokee, all of which have had a presence in the Australian market for decades. Jeep also currently sells the smaller Compass crossover and the Wrangler-based Gladiator utility.
Unlike most mainstream manufacturers, Jeep vehicles tend to offer rugged off-road capability out of the box, with more road-biased models (like the Compass and Cherokee) available in a Trailhawk specification which brings 4x4-focused equipment and Jeep’s ‘Trail Rated’ branding – the brand’s in-house certification that a vehicle can tackle a range of challenging off-road terrain.
