The 2020-21 Volkswagen T-Cross is being recalled due to a fault with its seatbelt warning.

“The seatbelt warning (acoustic warning tone and visual display) may occasionally operate rather than continuously, in circumstances such as a seatbelt not fastened or unfastened while the vehicle is moving,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the warning does not sound continuously, a seatbelt may be unbuckled without the driver being informed.

“If the warning does not sound continuously there is the possibility that a seat belt may be unbuckled without the driver being sufficiently informed. In the event of an accident this may result in injury or death to an unrestrained occupant.”
