Volkswagen is giving its ID.4 and ID.5 duo more features as the full range of mid-size electric SUVs becomes available locally.

The Volkswagen ID.4 GTX and ID.5 Pro join the entry-level ID.4 Pro and flagship ID.5 GTX that reached local showrooms in July.

They’re arriving here as model year 2025.5 (MY25.5) vehicles, and all MY25.5 ID.4 and ID.5 variants now come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus massaging front seats.

The updated electric SUVs carry the same price tag as before, but buyers who opt for leftover MY25 stock of the ID.4 Pro and ID.5 GTX will pay the same list price but get a free 7kW home EV charger.

This includes installation by a certified installer, and the total package is valued at $1899.

Volkswagen is continuing to offer all ID.4 and ID.5 variants with an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty and Guaranteed Future Value (GFV) through Volkswagen Financial Services.

The single-motor rear-wheel drive ID.4 Pro opens Volkswagen’s mid-size electric SUV lineup, priced at $59,990 before on-road costs. The more curvaceous ID.5 Pro is $3000 more expensive at $62,990 before on-roads.

Pro variants come with a 210kW electric motor that’s claimed to give them a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.7 seconds. Range is 543-544km on the WLTP cycle.

The sportier, dual-motor all-wheel drive GTX variants are priced at $69,990 and $72,990 before on-roads, respectively.

Total power output is 250kW and their claimed 0-100km/h time is slashed to 5.4 seconds, but range takes a dip to 511km in the ID.4 and 522km in the ID.5.
