Kia Australia is recalling the first-generation Niro EV as it could lose power.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the high voltage battery safety plug may become loose, resulting in poor terminal contact,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs, the vehicle may experience a loss of motive power, and the driver may be unable to restart the engine.

“A sudden loss of motive power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
