BYD has quietly confirmed the updated Atto 3 for Australia, with a range of tech and aesthetic updates as well as lower prices.
The Standard Range is now priced at $44,499 before on-road costs, while the Extended Range is $47,499 before on-roads.
These prices are down $3512 compared to the equivalent pre-update models.
The updated Atto 3 is available to order now.
Exterior changes for the updated Atto 3 are minor, and were previewed earlier this year on the Japanese-market model.
The patterned trim around the D-pillar is now black instead of silver, as is the trim around the windows, while there’s now a simple BYD wordmark on the tailgate.
The Atto 3 has also ditched its Atlas Batman tyres in favour of Continental Eco Contact 6 rubber.
Inside, the rotating 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen has been replaced by a larger 15.6-inch unit.
Vehicles finished in grey and black also now come with a two-tone black and blue interior, instead of the pale grey and blue interior that remains on vehicles finished in other colours.
Speaking of exterior colours, there are now just four. Ski White is standard, with Boulder Grey, Surf Blue and new Cosmos Black finishes each costing an extra $700.
Last year’s Parkour Red and Forest Green are no more.
BYD also says it has added a new camping mode, allowing you to use the air-conditioning while the vehicle is off and the battery is above 20 per cent. There’s also a new karaoke function.
The updated Atto 3 is mechanically unchanged, with a 150kW/310Nm front-mounted electric motor and a choice of 59.92kWh and 60.5kWh lithium iron phosphate batteries.
