Hyundai India has officially teased the upcoming 2023 Venue facelift, just days after renderings of the final design were leaked online.
The facelifted Venue – previewed here in a series of sketches and a shadowy video – will sport a look inspired by the brand’s new Sensuous Sportiness design concept, which appears to take cues from the larger Palisade and Tucson.
The company says the updated Venue’s target demographic demands “future tech, spacious interiors, comfort, style and safety – and the new model is designed to cater to those tastes.
Key elements highlighted in the teasers include a dark chrome front grille and available LED tail lights incorporating a full-width light bar, rather than the reflector treatment we were expecting. See the video above for more.
There’s no sketches or renders of the interior as yet, but we’re expecting the cabin to present similarly to the current model, albeit with enhanced displays and technology.
Our guess is the standard 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit will be replaced by a larger 10.25-inch unit in higher-grade models, and more Hyundai SmartSense features (namely adaptive cruise control and enhanced blind-spot assist) will become available depending on market. A digital instrument cluster could also be in store.

The design sketches confirms the renders we saw earlier this week are accurate, at least for the Indian-market model. Australian Venues are sourced from Korea, as are North American models, where the Indian vehicle is slightly smaller and is built locally.
Indian models also offer the option of a 1.0 T-GDi three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, similar to the unit available locally in the Kia Rio and Stonic. Australian models, at least currently, are only available with a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
Hyundai Australia again declined to comment on whether the previewed Venue facelift is indicative of future updates for the local model. The timing of the Indian update suggests, however, that Australia could be seeing a mid-life enhancement in 2023.
As of April 30, the Hyundai Venue is Australia’s third best-selling Light SUV segment according to VFACTS data.
With 2647 units registered year to date (YTD), the Venue is up 37.2 per cent this year to the end of April and behind only the Mazda CX-3 (3480 units, -44.3 per cent) and Toyota Yaris Cross (3040 units, +9.7 per cent). The Venue is also a nose ahead of its Kia Stonic cousin (2569 units, +46.5 per cent).
