The Lexus UX300e small electric SUV has been recalled due to an issue that may prevent its windscreen from defrosting properly.

The same issue has also led to recalls for the Lexus RZ and Toyota bZ4X.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the electric heater element within the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system may deteriorate over time,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If this occurs, the windscreen defrost function may not operate correctly and could lead to poor visibility for the driver.

“Poor visibility will potentially increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
