The brand new Subaru Impreza is ready for another round. A new generation of Subaru’s small car – available exclusively as a hatch this time around – back to take on the likes of the Toyota Corolla and Hyundai i30.
It’s priced from $31,490 before on-road costs, up $4000 on the cost of entry for the outgoing model.
However, this is partially offset by the addition of more standard safety equipment in the base 2.0L, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and reverse autThe interior is headlined by a new 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, aligning the Impreza with other recently redesigned Subaru models like the Outback and WRX.onomous emergency braking.
At the other end of the line-up, the 2.0S is $5200 more expensive than the outgoing 2.0i-S but now features a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
The safety equipment list includes the latest generation of Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist System, with an improved stereo camera and a new wide-angle monocular camera. This sees the addition of features like speed sign recognition and lane-centring, while the Impreza also gains two additional airbags.
