Video footage has shown a perplexing crash that left a Jaguar F-Type heavily damaged.

Uploaded to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page, the video shows traffic stopped on Maundrell Terrace in the Brisbane suburb of Aspley after a Volkswagen T-Roc decided to allow a Ford Everest to pull out from a side street.

The Everest then sets off, but as it accelerates it continues to turn towards the camera car, glancing along its side before hitting a Chery Tiggo 4 Pro head-on.

Photos at the end of the video reveal the camera car to be a bright blue Jaguar F-Type coupe, with significant damage to its right-front corner and driver’s side door. Depending on the variant and year, that car could have cost upwards of $160,000 when new.

Reviewing the video, a car does approach from the opposite direction after the Everest has entered the intersection.

It appears that once the Everest driver saw the approaching car, they panicked and hit the accelerator, causing them to steer uncontrollably into the path of the F-Type and Tiggo 4 Pro.

No description is provided as to the aftermath of the incident or how much repairs could cost, but it likely won’t be cheap given the damage to the bonnet, headlight, front bumper, wheel, front quarter panel, door, and rear quarter panel – all on the driver’s side.

The Everest also suffered serious damage, with a final image revealing damage to its front bumper and right-front wheel, which seems to have been ripped off and wedged under the side of the SUV. Any damage to the Tiggo 4 Pro is not clear.
