Volkswagen is recalling its 2021 Passat due to an issue with the brakes.

“The threaded nut connecting the brake servo and brake pedal may not meet manufacturing specifications,” the company says in its recall notice.

“Should the threaded nut become loose the brake pedal will no longer function leading to a reduction in braking performance and handling of the vehicle.

“A loss of breaking [sic] performance will increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to book in at a Volkswagen dealership for a free inspection and repair.

If you have any further questions, you can contact Volkswagen on 1800 504 076.
