Jaguar Land Rover Australia is recalling a range of vehicles from 2021 and 2022 due to an issue with the front seatbelt pre-tensioner tube.
The recall affects the Land Rover Defender, Discovery and Discovery Sport and the Range Rover Sport and Velar.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, a damaged front seat belt pre-tensioner tube may have been installed on the seat belt retractor,” the company says in its recall notice.
“As a result the seat belt pre-tensioner may not operate as intended.
“In the event of an accident, if the seat belt pre-tensioner does not operate as intended it may increase the risk of injury or, in the case of a serious accident increase the risk of death to vehicle occupants.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to make an appointment at a Land Rover dealership to have a free repair carried out.
