The second step in Chery’s local revival has been priced.
The Tiggo 7 Pro SUV will go head-to-head with the MG HS and Haval H6, along with the Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, and Kia Sportage in the rampantly popular mid-sized SUV segment in Australia.
It’ll arrive in local showrooms during the fourth quarter of 2023, with pricing from $39,990 drive-away for the base Tiggo 7 Urban with front-wheel drive.
Jumping to the more generously equipped Elite bumps the price to $41,990 drive-away, while the Ultimate AWD is priced from $45,990 drive-away.
All models are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine making 137kW of power and 275Nm of torque.
Claimed fuel economy is 7.0 litres per 100km on the combined cycle for the front-wheel drive model.
Inside, the Tiggo 7 Pro will feature two 12.3-inch screens and an eight-speaker Sony sound system across the range.
The Tiggo 7 Pro measures 4500mm long, 1842mm wide and 1746mm tall on a 2670mm wheelbase, and boasts 626 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place, expanding to 1672L with them folded.
Its external dimensions put it close to the Mazda CX-5 in size, or the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross – the latter considered a small SUV.
Preorders for the Tiggo 7 Pro open today. The first 500 customers to lock in an order will be offered a three-year service package free.
