The updated Lexus LS500 and LS500h are on sale now, with new infotainment, more connectivity, and other detail changes.
The range opens with the LS500h F Sport at $195,920 before on-road costs, up $2172 on the outgoing model. Similar price increases have been applied across the range.
The headline act of the 2023 LS range is the new-generation infotainment system, as previously seen in vehicles like the new NX, which now includes wireless Apple CarPlay in addition to wired Android Auto.
The touchscreen remains a 12.3-inch unit, though the centre console touchpad has been removed.

Lexus says the revised centre console now allows for easy smartphone storage without needing to open or close a lid, and previously released images show there’s now an angled wireless phone charger ahead of the centre console bin.
Said images also revealed controls for functions like the heated and ventilated seats now reside where the touchpad once was, while the CD/DVD player has been junked and a couple of USB-C slots added.
As with other models using the new-gen infotainment, there’s a new user interface and a voice recognition system that can be activated by pressing a button or saying “Hey Lexus”.
There’s a wider range of connectivity features, with cloud-based connected navigation with live traffic, weather, parking and map updates and first- and last-mile routing joining the existing emergency call, stolen vehicle tracking and automatic collision notification features.
App connectivity now also allows you to check vehicle details like the odometer reading, tyre pressure, trip information, fuel level and location remotely, as well as if the doors, windows, boot and bonnet are closed and locked.
You can also remotely start the car’s engine and lock or unlock the doors.
The standard surround-view camera now has an underbody transparent display view, created by combining footage from each of the exterior cameras.
As with other hybrid models in the range, the electrified LS500h loses its hybrid badging and the blue hue of its Lexus logos. It also loses the ‘500h’ from its model name badge.
The range is mechanically unchanged, with the LS500 still using a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine with 310kW of power and 600Nm of torque and the LS500h featuring a 3.5-litre V6 hybrid with 264kW of power.
