The Mazda CX-30 is getting mild-hybrid tech and new variants, as well as more personalisation options later this year.
Mazda Australia has confirmed the updated CX-30 – available for pre-order now – will offer the G20e M Hybrid powertrain first debuted in the related MX-30, claimed to improve efficiency and smoothen the idle stop/start experience.
As a refresher, the G20e powertrain is a version of Mazda’s 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 114kW of power at 6000rpm and 200Nm of torque at 4000rpm while teamed with a 24V mild-hybrid system.

It’ll be offered in the new ‘G20e Evolve M Hybrid Vision Technology‘ grade ($TBC), which upgrades the existing G20 Evolve with the following:
- G20e 2.0-litre petrol with 24V MHEV technology
- Vision Technology
- 360-degree cameras
- Cruising & Traffic Support (traffic jam assist)
- Driver monitoring
- Front cross-traffic alert
- Front parking sensors
- Keyless entry
- Driver’s side auto-dimming mirror with tilt function and memory
- 10-way electric driver’s seat with memory
Another new grade will come in the form of the ‘Touring SP Vision Technology‘, which will be available in G20, G25 and G25 AWD guises.
Building on the penultimate CX-30 Touring variant, the new model gains:
- Burgundy leather upholstery with black accents
- 18-inch alloy wheels in black metallic
- Black side mirror caps
Elsewhere in the range, the entry-level G20 Pure now gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter, while the G20 Astina picks up an electric tilt/slide sunroof.
A new Platinum Quartz grey exterior finish is now available on all grades, while the Pure White leather option has been extended to all exterior colours on G20 and G25 Astina variants.
