Ford’s entry-level SUV enters 2022 unchanged, apart from a minor shuffling of options.
The 2022 Ford Puma – MY22.25 in Ford parlance – will be available in Australia from March 2022.
The optional panoramic sunroof and a black contrast roof will now be available exclusively on the ST-Line V. These items were previously optional across the range.
The Puma’s main option package, the Park Pack, has also seen its price reduced from $1500 to $990.
UPDATE, 11/01/2022 – Ford has confirmed prices have increased by $350 across the range.
This package, available across the range, adds semi-autonomous parking assist, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control with stop/go, blind-spot monitoring, lane-centring, evasive steering assistance and rear cross-traffic alert.
The Puma was developed primarily for the European market. Both there and here, it battles the likes of the Nissan Juke and Volkswagen T-Cross.

Engines
All versions of the 2022 Ford Puma sold in Australia are powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine which produces 92kW of power and 170Nm of torque.
Drive is sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
Fuel Economy
The 2022 Ford Puma uses 5.3L/100km on the combined cycle and has a 42L fuel tank.
The Puma’s EcoBoost engine includes fuel-saving cylinder deactivation, meaning it can shut off one cylinder under low engine load to save fuel.
All models also feature automatic stop/start.
Dimensions
The standard 2022 Ford Puma measures 4186mm long, 1805mm wide and 1550mm tall. It has a 2588mm wheelbase.
ST-Line and ST-Line V models are slightly longer at 4207mm due to a sportier body kit.
The Puma has 410L of boot space, expanding to 1170L with the rear seats folded.
Servicing and Warranty
The 2022 Ford Puma is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
For the first four years/60,000kms, Ford offers scheduled maintenance capped at $299 per visit.
Servicing is required every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
Safety
The Ford Puma has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP based on testing conducted in 2019.
The car scored 94 per cent for adult occupant protection, 86 per cent for child occupant protection, 77 per cent for vulnerable road user protection and 74 per cent for safety assist.
