A Bentley Flying Spur can already be described as sumptuous and opulent. But what happens if it still isn’t enough for your rarified tastes?

Enter the Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner, named for Bentley’s bespoke commissioning division and the first electrified Bentley to bear its name.

UPDATE, 24/08/2021 – Bentley has confirmed local pricing for the Flying Spur Mulliner line-up.

It’s now available to order in V8 and W12 guise, with a Mulliner version of the new plug-in hybrid to be available to order soon.

The hybrid will be the cheapest Flying Spur Mulliner, with a price of $597,500 before on-road costs.

The V8 is priced at $602,200 before on-road costs, while the W12 is $632,300 before on-roads.

Externally, Mulliner models are distinguished via unique 22-inch wheels with a grey painted and polished finish. Yes, those wheel caps remain upright as you drive. Would you expect anything less?

There’s a ‘Double Diamond’ front grille and matching lower grille. Above the grille stands tall the Flying B bonnet ornament, which is both electronically deployed and illuminated.

Mulliner-branded wing vents and Satin Silver mirror caps round out the exterior changes.

This is a Mulliner, so of course the headline act is the interior.

Once you step over the illuminated sill plates and settle into the deep-pile floor mats, you can indulge in the Mulliner’s lush interior..

Diamonds must be a Bentley Flying Spur Mulliner’s best friend, as the shape is prominently featured inside as well.

There’s hand-stitched leather upholstery with ‘Diamond-in-Diamond’ quilting and ‘three-dimensional’ trim on the doors, trimmed with colour-contrast piping.

Each diamond contains 712 individual stitches, giving you exactly the kind of esoteric bragging right you would expect as a Mulliner owner.

The diamond theme continues with the milled ‘technical’ finish on the centre and rear consoles, while a brushed silver Mulliner clock takes pride of place on the centre stack.

There are eight custom-made, tri-colour combinations for the interior. The featured example, called Ascot, combines an Imperial Blue leather-wrapped instrument panel, door trims and headliner with Camel (the colour, not the animal) leather seats.

White piping provides a contrasting accent and is designed to match the chrome accenting that wraps around the dash.

The digital instrument cluster features exclusive Mulliner graphics, while there are luxury features expected of a Bentley like a panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, and the Bentley Rotating Display.

Of course, much of this will be merely the concern of your chauffeur. Luxuriating in the rear seat, you can deploy electrically-operated, veneered picnic tables with the press of a button. These feature a leather-trimmed surface with a recess for a pen or stylus.

There’s one final swath of leather to be found on the key itself, provided to you in a handcrafted presentation box to match the tri-colour interior scheme of your car.

    The Mulliner is available with all three of the Flying Spur’s powertrains: a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12, and the new 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 plug-in hybrid.

While these are quite different powertrains, there’s not much between them in terms of 0-100km/h times: 4.0 seconds in the V8, 3.8 seconds in the W12, and 4.3 seconds in the Hybrid.

The Flying Spur Mulliner becomes the third member of the new Bentley Mulliner Collections family, alongside similarly decadent examples of the Continental GT coupe and convertible.
