Jaguar may have discontinued the XE in the USA, but it’s committing to its entry-level sedan here.
Pricing and specifications for the full three-model 2021 Jaguar XE range haven’t been released yet, but the new XE R-Dynamic Black is priced at $69,990 drive-away.
Deliveries start in the first quarter of next year.
The XE range is now available only with all-wheel drive, like its big brother the XF. The range has been exclusively rear-wheel drive in Australia since its launch in 2015.
For 2021, the XE receives Jaguar’s new Pivi Pro infotainment system.
First seen on the Land Rover Defender and recently rolled out to the Jaguar XF and F-Pace, Pivi Pro uses a 10.0-inch central touchscreen plus a 5.5-inch lower touchscreen in the XE.
A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also standard, which can be used to display the map and turn-by-turn instructions.
Pivi Pro is underpinned by Jaguar’s new Electronic Vehicle Architecture, called EVA 2.0, which features two LTE modems and supports over-the-air updates. It also has a dedicated power source to ensure instantaneous start-up.
Other interior changes include a new steering wheel design and front seats, while there’s also Jaguar’s new cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 filtration to capture ultrafine particles.
A new R-Dynamic Black model joins the range for 2021, featuring a claimed $5980 worth of options over the SE upon which it’s based.
Features include a black exterior pack with a rear spoiler and 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels with red brake callipers, as well as gloss black interior trim, metal pedals and an 11-speaker Meridian sound system.
It’s available in Santorini Black, Yulong White, Firenze Red, Blue Fire and Eiger Grey.
Jaguar Land Rover has also confirmed all 2021 XE models will now come standard with adaptive cruise control and a surround-view camera.
The 2021 update follows last year’s mid-cycle enhancement that brought classier interior materials and freshened styling.

Engines
All 2021 Jaguar XE models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Jaguar claims a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds.
Fuel Economy
The 2021 Jaguar XE consumes 6.7L/100km on the combined cycle. It has a 63L fuel tank and requires 95RON premium unleaded fuel.
Dimensions
The 2021 Jaguar XE measures 4678mm long, 1967mm wide and 1416mm tall on a 2835mm wheelbase.
It has 410L of luggage space with the rear seats up.
Safety
The Jaguar XE has a five-star ANCAP rating, based on testing carried out in 2015.
It scored 92 per cent for adult occupant protection, 82 per cent for child occupant protection, 81 per cent for pedestrian protection, and 82 per cent for safety assist.
All 2021 Jaguar XE models come standard with autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.

Servicing
The 2021 Jaguar XE requires servicing every 12 months or 16,000km, whichever comes first. In addition to a three-year, 100,000km warranty, Jaguar offers a prepaid five-year service plan that costs $1950.
