The 2020 Suzuki Swift is available in three different trim levels with prices ranging from $17,690 before on-road costs for the base Swift GL Navigator manual to $27,490 before on-road costs for the Swift Sport auto.
The Swift is one of three light cars offered by Suzuki and directly rivals cars like the Mazda2 and Toyota Yaris. Unlike those cars, it offers a warm hatch variant, the Swift Sport.
All prices exclude on-road costs
The 2020 Suzuki Swift is available with three engines.
The Swift GL Navigator models use a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine producing 66kW and 120Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), though the GL Navigator with Safety Pack is only available with the latter.
The mid-range Swift GLX uses a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine producing 82kW and 160Nm. It’s mated exclusively to a CVT.
The range-topping Swift Sport uses a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 103kW and 230Nm. It’s available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, the latter featuring paddle shifters.
When equipped with the 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine, the 2020 Suzuki Swift consumes 4.6L/100km on the combined cycle with the manual transmission and 4.8L/100km with the CVT. The turbocharged 1.0-litre also achieves 4.8L/100km combined.
The Swift Sport’s turbocharged 1.4-litre consumes 6.1L/100km on the combined cycle in both manual and automatic guise.
The 2020 Suzuki Swift measures 3840mm long, 1495mm tall and 1735mm wide. The Swift Sport is slightly longer at 3890mm.
The Suzuki Swift’s total luggage space is 242L, increasing to 556L with the rear seats folded. The Swift Sport has slightly more luggage space at 265L or 579L with the rear seats folded.
When the Suzuki Swift range was tested by ANCAP in 2017, it received a rating of five stars except for the base model. It received only four stars due to a lack of active safety equipment.
The ANCAP ratings were based on a frontal offset score of 14.39 out of 16 and a side impact score of 15.74 out of 16. Whiplash and pedestrian protection were rated Good and Good, respectively.
All 2020 Suzuki Swift models come standard with anti-lock brakes, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.
Suzuki Swift models from the GL Navigator with Safety Pack and up also receive autonomous emergency braking and lane-departure warning.
The base 2020 Suzuki Swift GL Navigator comes with the following standard features:
The Swift GL Navigator with Safety Pack adds the following standard features:

The 2020 Suzuki Swift requires servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, except for the GLX and Sport which require servicing every 12 months or 10,000km, whichever comes first.
In addition to its five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty, Suzuki offers five years of capped-price servicing for the Swift. The average service cost each year for the first five years is $295.
