    Engines

The 2020 Suzuki Swift is available with three engines.

The Swift GL Navigator models use a naturally-aspirated 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine producing 66kW and 120Nm. It’s mated to a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), though the GL Navigator with Safety Pack is only available with the latter.

The mid-range Swift GLX uses a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine producing 82kW and 160Nm. It’s mated exclusively to a CVT.

The range-topping Swift Sport uses a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 103kW and 230Nm. It’s available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, the latter featuring paddle shifters.

    Safety

When the Suzuki Swift range was tested by ANCAP in 2017, it received a rating of five stars except for the base model. It received only four stars due to a lack of active safety equipment.

The ANCAP ratings were based on a frontal offset score of 14.39 out of 16 and a side impact score of 15.74 out of 16. Whiplash and pedestrian protection were rated Good and Good, respectively.

All 2020 Suzuki Swift models come standard with anti-lock brakes, and front, front-side and curtain airbags.

Suzuki Swift models from the GL Navigator with Safety Pack and up also receive autonomous emergency braking and lane-departure warning.
