    Introduced in 2014, the NX is Lexus’s mid-sized SUV and rivals the Audi Q5 and BMW X3, though its base price significantly undercuts them.

    The 2020 Lexus NX300 uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 175kW and 350Nm. It’s mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission and is available with either front- or all-wheel drive.

    The 2020 Lexus NX300h uses a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 114kW and 210Nm.

    It’s mated to a continuously-variable transmission (CVT), a nickel-metal hydride battery and either one or two electric motors, front-wheel drive models featuring one up front with 105kW and 270Nm and all-wheel drive models added one at the rear with 50kW and 139Nm.

    Total system output for all NX300h models is 147kW.

    It requires only 91RON regular unleaded fuel.

    When the Lexus NX was tested by ANCAP in 2017, it received a rating of five stars.

    That rating was based on a frontal offset score of 14.39 out of 16 and a side impact score of 16 out of 16. Whiplash and pedestrian protection were rated Good and Acceptable, respectively.

    All 2020 Lexus NX models come standard with autonomous emergency braking with forward-collision warning, as well as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-tracing assist, traffic-sign recognition, anti-lock brakes, and eight airbags.

    Servicing

    All 2020 Lexus NX models require servicing every 12 months or 15,000km, whichever comes first.
