The 2020 Lexus ES is available in three different trim levels, with prices ranging from $59,888 before on-road costs for the base ES300h Luxury to $75,888 before on-road costs for the ES300h Sports Luxury.
Though the ES was the second Lexus to reach Australian shores, it took a leave of absence from the Australian market of almost a decade.
The latest ES, launched in 2018, uses Toyota’s new TNGA platform and is now only available with a hybrid powertrain.

The 2020 Lexus ES300h uses a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 131kW and 221Nm, mated to a nickel-metal hydride battery. Total system output is 160kW.
It’s mated exclusively to an electronic continuously-variable transmission (e-CVT) and is only available with front-wheel drive.
The 2020 Lexus ES300h consumes 4.8L/100km on the combined cycle. It requires 95RON premium unleaded fuel.
The 2020 Lexus ES300h measures 4975mm long, 1445mm tall and 1865mm wide.

When the Lexus ES300h was tested by ANCAP in 2018, it received a rating of five stars.
All models received an adult occupant protection score of 91 per cent, child occupant protection score of 86 per cent, vulnerable road user protection score of 90 per cent and a safety assist score of 76 per cent.
All 2020 Lexus ES models come standard with autonomous emergency braking with forward-collision warning and pedestrian detection, as well as lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, traffic-sign recognition, anti-lock brakes, and 10 airbags.
