An incorrectly secured sensor could mean airbags in six Mercedes-Benz A-Class and CLA vehicles mightn't deploy in time.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling six examples of its 2019 A-Class and CLA due to an airbag sensor fault.
“The side crash sensor may not be secured correctly to the body of the vehicle. These sensors are used to determine when to deploy the airbags in the event of an accident,” the company says in its recall notice.
“If the sensors are not secured correctly in the event of an accident, there may be a delay in triggering the airbag, increasing the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
Mercedes-Benz is contacting affected owners. If you’re one of them, you’ll need to take your vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz dealer for a free inspection and repair.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Mercedes-Benz on 1300 300 896.
