Suzuki Jimny Comparison
The 2024 three-door Suzuki Jimny and five-door Jimny XL are on sale now, starting from $30,490 and $34,990 respectively before on-road costs.
Suzuki Australia has reopened orders for its automatic Jimny three-door. Despite back orders for the auto stretching as far as the second half of 2024, Suzuki Australia has secured additional production slots allowing for orders to reopen.
Suzuki Australia also says it has already taken thousands of orders, with 60 per cent of buyers picking the automatic for the Jimny XL, which is facing a 6-9 month wait list.
Besides being 340mm longer and having an extra pair of doors, the XL it can also be distinguished by its unique grey metallic grille with chrome accents.
Over the three-door Jimny, it gains wireless Apple CarPlay, DAB digital radio, rear parking sensors and, with the automatic transmission, adaptive cruise control.
The Jimny is offered with the choice of a manual or automatic transmission.
When it first launched the manual was more popular but as time went on the sales split shifted to the automatic – hence orders for the latter being paused in the face of rampant demand.
The three-door Jimny enters 2024 unchanged, though it’s being joined by a longer five-door version called the Jimny XL
