Toyota is recalling 367 examples of its 2018 86 model due to a faulty fuel pump.
“The fuel pump on affected vehicles may stop operating,” the company says in its recall notice.
“This can result in the vehicle stalling and the vehicle may not be able to be restarted.
“A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.”
Toyota will be contacting affected owners in writing, requesting that owners book in at their preferred Toyota dealer for a free fuel pump replacement.
If you are one of these owners and you have any additional questions or concerns, you can contact either your preferred dealer or the Toyota Recall Campaign Helpline on 1800 987 366.
