Thailand will soon get this facelifted Toyota Corolla Cross, but don’t queue up at your Australian dealer for it just yet.

The Toyota Corolla Cross has received a facelift in Thailand, but we’re unlikely to see the revised SUV in Australia any time soon – if at all.
Overnight, Toyota’s Thailand division unveiled its new-look Corolla Cross, with the visual changes consisting of a honeycomb-look grille, new lower and side air intakes, plus revised headlights and wheels.
However, while the Toyota Corolla Cross has been on sale in Thailand since mid-2020 – and is now roughly halfway through a typical seven-year lifecycle – it’s unlikely that we’ll see this version of the SUV in Australian showrooms soon.
The Corolla Cross first arrived in Australian showrooms in late 2022, meaning it has only been on sale locally for one and a half years – less than half the time of its Thai-market counterpart.
Additionally, examples of the Toyota Corolla Cross sold in Thailand are also built locally in Chachoengsao, whereas Australian-delivered models are sourced from Aichi, Japan.
It appears the Thai-market SUV’s interior is largely unchanged, with what appears to be the flagship variant retaining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and an identical steering wheel.
In November 2023, a facelift of the Japanese Corolla Cross was revealed, with more safety features and a new look compared to the Australian model, however – like today’s Thailand version – it’s not known whether it will come to local showrooms.
Australian Toyota Corolla Cross examples are available in three grades – GX, GXL and Atmos – with three drivetrains: a front-wheel drive petrol-only 2.0-litre four-cylinder, and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Atkinson cycle hybrid with either front- or all-wheel drive.
CarExpert has contacted Toyota Australia regarding updates for the Corolla Cross in Australia, and is awaiting a response.
