Skoda Australia is introducing a new variant to its Octavia liftback and wagon range, with the Sportline finally joining the range after an almost three-year wait.
The Skoda Octavia Sportline slots in between the entry-level Style and the flagship performance RS. It’s due in showrooms in February 2024.
Priced from $42,490 drive-away in liftback guise or $43,990 drive-away as a wagon, the Octavia Sportline’s price is identical to that of the Octavia Style, despite the newly introduced model packing more features than its sibling.
Additional equipment in the Skoda Octavia Sportline includes:
This is in addition to features found on the Style, which include matrix LED headlights, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 10-inch infotainment screen, plus dual-zone climate control, a power tailgate and keyless entry.
Safety equipment on all Skoda Octavia grades includes front and rear parking sensors, autonomous emergency braking (front and rear), adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring and parking assist.
The Skoda Octavia Sportline is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque.
Drive is sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Options for the Skoda Octavia Sportline include:
Candy White paint is standard, with Magic Black pearl and Graphite Grey, Brilliant Silver, Moon White and Lava Blue metallic finishes all costing an extra $770.
Velvet Red metallic carries a $1170 premium.
The Skoda Octavia Sportline is due in local showrooms almost three years after its global unveiling in April 2021.
Skoda Australia delayed its Australian launch multiple times, though it did offer a similarly specified Limited Edition model.
It ultimately scrapped plans to introduce the Sportline here in April 2023, though this decision has since been reversed – if not without one key change.
When it was initially confirmed for Australia, the Sportline was set to come here with Skoda’s more powerful 140TSI powertrain: a turbocharged 2.0-litre with 140kW and 320Nm.
