Ram’s Hemi V8-powered 1500 pickup truck range is now officially in runout mode in Australia, though it still hasn’t confirmed when twin-turbocharged six-cylinder replacements will be in showrooms.
The entire 5.7-litre V8-powered DT-series range is being offered with free on-road costs, with the entry-level Big Horn now priced at $114,950.
That means dealer delivery, stamp duty and 12 months of registration and compulsory third-party insurance are free. You can view the full terms and conditions on the Ram Trucks Australia website.

“You’ve always promised yourself a Hemi V8 – and now that they’re in run out with free on-roads, that time has come,” said Ram Trucks Australia general manager Jeff Barber.
“While we have exciting news ahead for what will power future Ram Trucks, once these history-making Hemi V8s are gone, they’re gone.”
Of course, we know exactly what powers the updated 1500 pickup in its North American homeland.
Revealed almost 12 months ago in November 2023, the 2025 Ram 1500 in North America offers a choice of two twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre ‘Hurricane’ six-cylinder petrol engines.
The standard Hurricane mill pumps out 313kW of power and 636Nm of torque, up 22kW and 80Nm on the outgoing Hemi V8.
The high-output version produces 402kW and 706Nm. That makes it even more powerful than the Hemi V8 but less so than the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 of the TRX, of which a Final Edition was introduced earlier this year.
Ram Trucks Australia hasn’t officially confirmed when Hurricane-powered 1500s will come here, or if we’ll see the range-extender Ramcharger revealed at the same time.
This new model uses a 92kWh battery pack, front and rear electric drive modules (EDMs), and a 3.6-litre V6 that serves as an onboard generator for the EDMs.
Ram has also revealed a fully electric version of the 1500 called the REV, which will launch in the US late this year as a rival to the Ford F-150 Lightning.
Once the Ram 1500 loses its V8, only Chevrolet will offer a V8 in this segment in Australia. The Ford F-150 is only offered here with a twin-turbo V6 despite V8s being offered overseas, while the new Toyota Tundra is only built with six-cylinder power.
