Subaru is recalling some of its sportier or more powerful models from model years 2018 to 2019 due to a fuel pump fault.
The recall affects the BRZ, WRX and Levorg lines, as well as the previous-generation Forester XT and six-cylinder Liberty and Outback models.
“The fuel pump impeller may not meet manufacturing specifications, as a result it may become deformed,” the company says in its recall notice.
“This may cause the fuel pump to stop working and may lead to the vehicle stalling.
“A loss of power while driving could increase the risk of an accident and injury to a vehicle occupant or other road users. In the event of a serious accident this may result in death.”
