Mercedes-Benz is recalling 2847 vehicles across its A-Class, B-Class, CLA and GLA lines due to a steering fault.

“The component in the universal joint of the steering shaft was not manufactured to specifications. Which may restrict the ability to steer the vehicle over time,” the company says in its recall notice.

“If the steering does not perform as expected there is an increased risk of an accident resulting in injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

    • A total of 2847 vehicles are affected from model year 2017
