Mercedes-Benz is recalling its 2018-19 Sprinter van as there’s a risk of a vehicle fire.

“The electrical wiring of the interior fan blower may not meet specifications and could cause excess heat when the highest level of air condition/heater is in operation,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This may result in a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.”

If you own an affected vehicle, Mercedes-Benz asks that you contact one of its dealers to have the work carried out as soon as possible, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact the company on 1300 300 896.
