Mercedes-Benz is recalling S-Class models due to an issue with their airbag control unit.
“During manufacture the airbag control unit may not have been secured to the vehicle correctly and may detect incorrect acceleration values whilst driving,” the company says in its recall notice.
“Due to the incorrect acceleration value the airbag control unit might deploy the occupant restraint systems incorrectly and in the event of a crash it might not get activated.
“This could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants.”
It follows a recall from late last year for a front passenger airbag that may be deactivated, and one from earlier this month for incorrectly installed rear airbag wiring.
