Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 37 examples of its CLA-Class small sedan, due to a fault with its rear brake hoses that can cause a reduction in braking performance.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear axle brake hoses may become damaged over time. If this occurs it could lead to a brake fluid leak resulting in reduced braking performance,” the carmaker said in its recall notice.

“A reduction in braking performance could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”
