A brand-new Kia Seltos has gone for a dip at Balmoral Beach on the first day of the New South Wales school holidays.
Beachgoers were enjoying the sun and waves when a Kia Seltos with P-plates ploughed through a concrete wall and landed upside down on the sand.
The accident was reportedly very loud and heard by many. The area where the accident occurred was some distance from the road, which begs the question: how did this happen?
According to comments on the North Shore Mums Instagram page, a family had just left from where the car landed moments before the crash.
Thankfully no one was injured in the incident, the vehicle however sustained extensive damage to its front bumper. Its roof was likely damaged in the impact, too.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman told news.com.au a woman in her 30s was treated for an injury to her head while the passenger, a man in his 50s, was assessed on scene. Both were treated and released.
A NSW Police spokesperson also confirmed no arrests had been made, nor charges laid, while the driver returned a negative breath test.
