A final edition of Jaguar’s F-Type will commemorate both the end of its run and 75 years of sports cars from the British brand.
Australian deliveries of the Jaguar F-Type 75 and F-Type R 75 will begin in April 2023.
They’ll be known as model year 2024 vehicles, and this will be the last model year for the F-Type as the brand switches to an electric-only line-up in 2025.
The changeover will also spell the end of the XE, XF, E-Pace and F-Pace.
Jaguar in Australia will offer a rear-wheel drive 75 Coupe and 75 Convertible with a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 331kW of power and 580Nm of torque, and a 0-100km/h time of 4.6 seconds.
These are priced at $183,200 and $188,450 before on-road costs, respectively.
Atop these will sit the F-Type R 75, which features a 423kW/700Nm supercharged 5.0-litre V8 and all-wheel drive, slashing the 0-100km/h time to 3.7 seconds.
Available only as a coupe, it’s priced at $284,550 before on-road costs.
All models feature an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 75 Coupe, 75 Convertible and R 75 coupe directly replace the current P450 R-Dynamic coupe and convertible and P575 R coupe.
All models ride on standard gloss-black 20-inch alloy wheels – five-spoke for the 75, 10-spoke for the R 75 – and receive various cosmetic tweaks.
For example, the wheel centres and grille badge change from red to black, and the R badge accent colours are black and grey instead of red and green. There’s also a new Giola Green metallic paint option.
Pixel LED headlights are now standard across the range, while inside there’s a unique silhouette motif on the centre console and stainless steel sill plates.
All models now also receive Windsor leather upholstery, slimline Performance seats, and ebony suedecloth headlining as standard.
The standard equipment list continues to include adaptive suspension, a switchable active exhaust, and brake-based torque vectoring, while the R also receives wider, specially developed Pirelli P Zero tyres – 265/35/ZR20 and 305/30/ZR20 front and rear, respectively.
The R 75 can be specified with Jaguar’s Carbon Ceramic Matrix braking system with 398mm front and 380mm rear discs with six- and four-piston monobloc calipers, finished in yellow.
Other options continue to include heated and ventilated front seats and an extended leather upgrade, as well as different wheel designs.
All F-Type models are backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty with five years of complimentary servicing up to 130,000km.
The F-Type was revealed in convertible form in 2013, with the coupe following in 2014. It was facelifted in 2019, receiving more aggressive front-end styling.
The range has been pared back locally, with the turbocharged four-cylinder and supercharged V6 engines dropped for 2022.
Jaguar has yet to confirm what its next-generation, electric-only line-up will look like, though Autocar reported earlier this year the brand will offer a trio of luxury SUVs – including, unusually, a three-door model – as it repositions itself as a more exclusive and even more upmarket brand.
That would suggest Jaguar won’t offer any coupes in its new line-up, and will also bid farewell to its sedans – two body styles it has continuously offered for over six decades.
New Jaguars will ride a new platform known as Panthera and will feature an 800V electrical architecture and extensive use of aluminium.
The brand reportedly plans to build 50-60,000 vehicles per year.
Two of these SUVs will reportedly be similar in size to the 4.97m-long Porsche Taycan Sport and Cross Turismo wagons and offer a choice of single- and dual-motor powertrains.
The flagship Jag will reportedly feature a 200mm-longer wheelbase and standard dual-motor all-wheel drive, with an emphasis on second-row comfort and pricing more in line with that of the Bentley Bentayga.
Nick Collins, Jaguar Land Rover’s executive director of vehicle programs, told Autocar the next-generation Jaguar products’ designs have been signed off and they’ll be shown to the public in 2024.
