JAC T9: Australian aftersales program locked in for new Chinese ute

Chinese newcomer JAC has announced more details about its Australian aftersales support program, locking in capped-price servicing, roadside assistance and loan vehicles for local T9 ute owners.

While the JAC T9 arrived in showrooms last quarter, only its seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty had been known prior to now.

However, local distributor LTS Auto has today confirmed it’s backing the JAC T9 with seven years of roadside assistance, available to owners 24/7.

This coincides with the announcement of a seven-year capped-price service plan, which JAC claims to be one of the cheapest on the market at a yearly average of $438.

This is more than the average capped-price service costs for the Ford Ranger (four years), Isuzu D-Max, Volkswagen Amarok and GWM Ute (all five years), though JAC offers a longer period of capped-price services.

JAC has also partnered with CarBiz to offer complimentary loan vehicles to T9 owners while warranty repairs are being undertaken.

The JAC T9 is sold in two variants, with prices starting from $42,662 before on-road costs.

It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine making 125kW of power and 410Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed automatic from ZF and four-wheel drive.
