In the absence of an Australian international motor show for over a decade, Hyundai continues to lead the way among mainstream auto brands when it comes to interactive customer events at racetracks.

The sold-out 2025 Hyundai N Festival attracted almost 500 enthusiasts last weekend at Queensland’s Morgan Park Raceway, when 483 participants and 276 N-cars descended on the testing rural circuit two hours west of Brisbane.

That’s less than the circa-1800 Hyundai fans and almost 500 N-cars that attended the record-setting N Festival at Sydney Motorsport Park last year, but the sixth annual N-car gathering (and the first at Morgan Park) saw the main street of Warwick closed for a group photo as 145 N vehicles hit the small local town on Sunday morning.

On top of 120 customer cars on track each day, 77 participated in roll racing on Saturday evening, follow by a social meet-and-greet attracting 120 enthusiasts.

In addition, there were 266 passenger ride sign-ons over the weekend, along with 73 on-track N model test drives, hot laps for 55 passenger and 47 show’n’shine entries.

All this was preceded by an N road drive that attracted 91 N-cars and 151 people, while 35 per cent of track-day sign-ons were first-timers at a racetrack.

Special guests included former Hyundai N boss Albert Biermann, who showed a rapid turn of speed in the Ioniq 5 N, and other off-track activities included the N WRC Heritage Exhibition, N Tech Garage, N Tech Talks, N Performance accessories display, N merchandise store, genuine service wheels workshop and more.

Some participants came from as far away as Sydney and, unlike similar events held by a number of premium auto brands in Australia, track-goers at the N Fest paid only a $50 entry fee and a $25 AASA licence fee per day.

It’s not known how many sales the Korean car-maker generated from the weekend, but the latest instalment of what’s now the biggest auto brand event series of its type in Australia is believed to have cost Hyundai around $200,000, plus the 12-month loan of a Santa Fe course to Morgan Park Raceway.

After similar events abroad, Australia’s first N Festival was held in 2019 at Wakefield Park west of Sydney (now known as One Raceway), followed by Queensland Raceway in 2020, Winton Raceway (Victoria) in 2021, and The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia in 2022.
