GWM is recalling its Tank 300 not due to a fault with the vehicle itself, but rather an issue with the jack it comes with.
“The adjusting rod used to operate the vehicle jack is of incorrect specification and may not function as intended,” the company says in its recall notice.
“There is no safety hazard and the defect will not affect the performance of the vehicle. Vehicles may not be compliant with the Australian Standard AS 2693-2007 and the jack cannot be used for wheel removal.”
The recall notice says only hybrid models are affected.
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a GWM dealer to have the adjusting rod replaced, free of charge.
If you experience tyre failure prior to getting this replaced, contact GWM roadside assistance.
If you have any further questions about the recall, contact GWM’s customer service team on 1800 038 100.
