After a record-breaking 2024 in terms of sales volume and multiple new products, GWM is looking to continue the momentum this year with even more new and updated vehicles.
Dubbing it a “new model onslaught”, the Chinese carmaker has locked in seven vehicle launches for 2025, and it’s currently expecting a similar amount of new vehicle launches in 2026.
Notably absent in the new product launch calendar for GWM this year is any new electric vehicle (EV) to sit alongside the lone Ora hatchback. It appears the larger Ora Sport remains under consideration for a local launch, but hasn’t been locked in.

GWM Cannon – February 2025
The updated and renamed GWM Cannon ute has launched and examples are already arriving at dealers.
Formerly dubbed the Ute, this updated version of the dual-cab ute is only being offered in four trim levels at launch – Lux, Ultra, Vanta and XSR – all with a pickup body style.
Pricing starts at $40,490 drive-away, and extends to $49,990 drive-away.
Under the bonnet is a larger and more powerful 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel from the Cannon Alpha, producing 135kW of power and 480Nm of torque. This represents increases of 15kW and 80Nm over the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel.
Braked towing capacity has been increased from 3200kg to 3500kg, matching the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, as well as the larger Cannon Alpha. It had already been bumped up from 3000kg last year.
GWM has confirmed additional dual-cab Cannon variants, as well as cab-chassis models, with the smaller 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel will be added to the lineup “within the next couple of months”.

GWM Haval H6 GT PHEV – February 2025
GWM’s first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) has started arriving at dealers.
Only one variant of the GWM Haval H6 GT PHEV is being offered at launch: the Ultra. There’s currently an introductory $2000 discount which it sees it priced from $53,990 drive-away, and there’s a free GWM home charger at no extra cost.
The GWM Haval H6 GT PHEV is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that’s augmented with two electric motors. Total system outputs are 321kW and 762Nm, and it’s claimed to be able to do the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds.
It features a large 35.4kWh battery pack, offering electric range of up to 180km on the lenient NEDC cycle. GWM says that with a full tank of fuel and a full battery charge, the Haval H6 GT PHEV has more than 1000km of range.

GWM Tank 300 diesel – March 2025
GWM already offers the Tank 300 with both petrol and hybrid power, but it’s set to bolster this further with the addition of the 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine from the Cannon Alpha and updated Cannon utes.
Like the utes, this turbo-diesel engine produces 135kW and 480Nm. It’s also mated to an in-house-developed nine-speed automatic transmission with drive sent through an on-demand four-wheel drive system.
The Lux diesel is priced at $49,490 drive-away, while the Ultra diesel is priced at $53,490 drive-away.
That slots the entry-level Lux diesel between the Lux petrol (currently $45,990 drive-away) and Lux Hybrid ($50,990 drive-away), while the Ultra diesel will be positioned between the Ultra petrol ($49,990 drive-away) and Ultra Hybrid ($55,990 drive-away).
It’s worth noting this pricing for the petrol and hybrid variants includes GWM’s current offers, which slash prices by up to $5000 between now and March 31, 2025.

GWM Cannon Alpha PHEV – Second quarter of 2025
GWM is set to go BYD Shark hunting with its second PHEV in local showrooms.
The company has however confirmed it won’t deliver any Cannon Alpha PHEVs to customers before the Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption for PHEVs lapses on April 1, 2025.
At launch, the Cannon Alpha PHEV will be offered in two trim levels and will be sold alongside the existing turbo-diesel and hybrid variants.
Pricing starts at $63,990 drive-away for the Cannon Alpha PHEV Lux, and extends to $68,990-drive-away for the Cannon Alpha PHEV Ultra. It’ll rival the BYD Shark 6, priced at $57,900 before on-road costs, as well as the upcoming Ford Ranger PHEV for which pricing has yet to be announced.
The Cannon Alpha PHEV matches the Ranger PHEV with a 3500kg braked towing capacity and beats the Shark 6’s 2500kg figure.
It also features front, rear and centre locking differentials, while the Shark 6 lacks any locking differentials.
Lastly, the Cannon Alpha PHEV has more claimed range (110km) than the Shark 6 (100km), according to lenient NEDC testing.

GWM Haval H6 – Second quarter of 2025
As previously reported, GWM plans to launch a refreshed version of its volume-selling Haval H6 mid-sized SUV in the second quarter of 2025.
Outside there’s revised styling including prominent, vertical daytime running lights and a segmented grille reminiscent of the outgoing Hyundai Palisade.
However, the outgoing car’s full-width light bar has been omitted in favour of more conservative tail lights.
Inside, there’s a new centre console design and steering wheel, plus a larger 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster remains.
GWM Australia has confirmed the updated H6 will initially be offered in petrol and front-wheel drive hybrid guises. All-wheel drive hybrid versions and a plug-in hybrid powertrain option are due later this year.

GWM Haval H7 – Third quarter of 2025
GWM has finally locked in the naming and an official launch time for the Haval H7.
This mid-sized SUV is intended to be slightly more rugged than the related Haval H6, but not quite as butch as the Tank 300 off-roader.
Built on the same LEMON platform as the Haval H6 and Haval H6 GT, complete with MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension, the Haval H7 differs with a locking rear differential and a “light off-road cruising mode”.
According to local government approval documents, the SUV has been approved to be sold with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid powertrain and a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
GWM Tank 500 PHEV – Fourth quarter of 2025
The last new vehicle launch GWM is planning for in 2025 is the Tank 500 PHEV.
This large body-on-frame SUV uses the same powertrain as the Cannon Alpha PHEV, and offers the same 110km of claimed NEDC electric range.
As with the PHEV ute, GWM brought an example of the Tank 500 PHEV to Australia for evaluation by local media in 2024.
