BMW Australia has increased the before on-road asking prices on the majority of its models as of January 1, 2023.
All the vehicles affected in this particular price adjustment have had their before on-road asking price increased by between $1600 and $11,500, depending on the model and variants.
These models include: the 1 Series, 2 Series Coupe, 2 Series Gran Coupe, M3, M4, 5 Series, M5, 8 Series, M8, Z4 and the X2, X3, and X4 SUVs.
“BMW constantly reviews its pricing structure throughout the year, taking into consideration a number of different factors,” said a BMW Australia spokesperson.
“However, we always aim to ensure our products remain appropriately positioned and represent a competitive pricing proposition in the market for our customers.”
This latest price adjustment follows two almost range-wide price increases BMW conducted during 2022. One was in April and the other was in August.
One of the smaller price rises for this round is the X2 crossover. The entry-level X2 sDrive18i received an increase of $1600, meaning the range now starts at $52,600 before on-road costs.
The vehicles with the largest price increase are the M8 Competition xDrive Gran Coupe and M8 Competition xDrive, with a price rise of $11,500. They now start at $371,400 and $374,400 before on-road costs, respectively.
BMW isn’t alone in raising the prices on the majority of its range. Audi recently upped the prices on most of its models, as have Porsche, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz.
The updated January 2023 pricing for affected BMW models is as follows:
1 Series
2 Series coupe
2 Series Gran Coupe
M3
M4
5 Series
8 Series
8 Series Gran Coupe
Z4
X2
X3
X4
All prices exclude on-road costs.
