The incoming Audi E-Tron electric crossover and compact Volkswagen T-Cross SUV have scored five stars with ANCAP.
Audi E-Tron
Audi’s rival to the Mercedes-Benz EQC, the E-Tron, scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 88 per cent for child occupant protection, 71 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 78 per cent for safety assist.
“The battery-electric Audi e-tron is well-equipped with a range of safety features and technologies, and offers a high level of protection to child occupants,” said Rhianne Robson, director for communications and advocacy at ANCAP.
“A score of 91 per cent was achieved for its protection of adult occupants, yet engineers noted a slight concern for driver chest protection in the oblique pole test.”
Volkswagen T-Cross
The compact T-Cross is based on the Volkswagen Polo’s platform.
It scored 97 per cent for adult occupant protection, 85 per cent for child occupant protection, 81 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 80 per cent for safety assist.
The T-Cross, Volkswagen’s new small SUV provides an impressive safety offering to the segment,” said Rhianne Robson, director for communications and advocacy at ANCAP.
“It achieved 97 per cent for adult occupant protection, with full points scored for the side impact and oblique pole impact tests.”
