No, this isn’t some strange AI-generated image – this is actually an Abarth you can take out on the water.
This wacky creation is the result of a partnership between Stellantis – the parent of Fiat, Abarth and a dozen other carmakers – and Italian firm Car Off Shore, who, as you guessed it, transforms cars into boats.
It’s not the first time they’ve done it with a Stellantis model, first making the Fiat 500-based Offshore before turning its attention to the equivalent Abarth model.
Launched to celebrate the performance marque’s 75th anniversary, the Abarth Offshore looks like one of the brand’s roadgoing models, apart from its obvious hull and fake wheels.
Powering it is an engine of undisclosed size which produces 172kW – more than the 132kW output of the 695 Competizione – and sounds like the brand’s road cars thanks to its Riva racing exhausts.
Inside, there are quilted leather Besenzoni sports seats with a four-point harness, a Wave Shock dampened support base, a Garmin stereo system, four Fusion speakers and a subwoofer.
There’s also a recessed steel ladder to make it easier to take a dip.
Production is limited to 500 examples, though a price is yet to be announced.
