Porsche Cars Australia will sell the old petrol-powered Macan and its electric replacement concurrently for a number of months, with the former expected to remain on sale into 2025.

Speaking with media, Porsche Cars Australia public relations head Alexis Truscott said the petrol Macan should be “available until approximately the end of Q2 2025”. That means it’ll remain on sale until late June.

“In Australia, people can still order from dealer stock. Dealer quantity varies by spec, by model, per dealer,” she said.

Ms Truscott made it very clear that the outgoing Macan would be available while stocks last, with no new orders being taken from factory – “it’s done,” she said.

Despite the first-generation Macan reaching the end of the road in the Australian market, the brand’s global product planners for the Macan line said there’s still no end date for the model’s production globally.

The two generations of Macan are currently built alongside each other in Porsche’s Leipzig plant in Germany, with various global markets to have the petrol model remain on sale “depending on customer demands”.

Thomas Rothfuss, director for the Macan product line, said Porsche can be “flexible” with the dialling down of combustion-powered Macan production.

“Of course, there’s a date in our minds… also supplier-wise and stuff like that. But we have flexibility in our Porsche plant in Leipzig where both models are built,” he said.

While not available to order, pricing for the final 2025 model year (MY25) Macan range starts from $95,100 before on-road costs, which is $1300 more than the MY24 range but still some $30,000 less than the new Macan Electric.

    MY25 Porsche Macan pricing:

    ModelPrice before on-road costs
    2025 Porsche Macan$95,100
    2025 Porsche Macan T$97,900
    2025 Porsche Macan S$118,200
    2025 Porsche Macan GTS$141,700
