Peugeot is bringing just over a dozen electric E-308 hatchbacks to Australia, priced at $65,990 drive-away, but it’s far from a typical new model launch.
The 14 examples of the small electric hatch are coming here as part of a ‘Peugeot Preview Program’, which the French brand is calling “an exclusive customer evaluation program”.
Over the first 12 months of their ownership experience, E-308 buyers will be asked to share their feedback with Peugeot Australia.

Offered exclusively at first to customers who registered their interest in buying an E-308, the opportunity will be extended to all Australian consumers on Friday, November 8.
The company has declined to confirm a date for a more traditional market launch for the E-308.
The electric hatch – which Peugeot is calling a model year 2024 vehicle – will be available for test drives at the Sydney International Electric Vehicle Show this weekend.
Peugeot changed its official line on its EV plans in September, coinciding with its axing of plug-in hybrids (PHEVs).
“Although we’re not in a position to comment specifically on individual vehicles, the 100 per cent electric range is set to expand from 2025,” said a spokesperson for Peugeot Australia in September.
That leaves no official timing or confirmation for a raft of EVs that Peugeot had previously stated or indicated were coming here, including the E-208, E-308, E-3008, E-5008 and updated E-2008.
The company is rolling out a new mild-hybrid powertrain across much of its range during 2025.
