The Kia EV4 has been revealed as an electric sedan and hatch with concept car looks.
The EV4 sedan was first previewed as a concept back in October 2023, with spy photographs later revealing it would be joined by a hatchback.
Now, Kia has shown off the exteriors of both, undisguised, ahead of a full reveal at its EV Day in Spain on February 24.
Kia also plans to make an “announcement of an expanded electrification strategy” on this date, before subsequently releasing “detailed design and product features” of the EV4 on February 27.

EV4 sedan
“We are keen and have our hand up, however EV4 hasn’t been confirmed for Australia as yet,” said a spokesperson for Kia Australia.
For now, we have no details about the EV4’s dimensions, electric powertrain, or features, with Kia’s press release merely describing the vehicle’s exterior design.
It closely resembles that of the concept, with plenty of sharp creases as well as vertical lighting elements front and rear.
EV4 GT-Line hatch
The look is identifiably 2020s Kia, without looking entirely derivative of, say, the combustion-powered K4 or electric EV5.
The sedan has a fastback profile with a steeply raked rear window.
The boxy hatchback has a glasshouse that gets slimmer towards the rear of the vehicle, before terminating at a bolt upright D-pillar treatment. Gloss black trim here in turn wraps across the roof of the car.
The EV4 rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, with GT-Line versions featuring a different wheel design plus different bumpers.
EV4 GT-Line sedan
All EV4 models feature prominent black cladding, giving the sedan and hatch a rather SUV-like appearance, as well as flush door handles.
The interior will likely closely follow the concept, as the EV3 did its concept, with a minimalist dashboard and a split-level centre console. We imagine there will be a few more physical switches and some different colour choices compared to the EV4 concept.
The EV4 will join Kia’s growing electric vehicle (EV) lineup. Despite a couple of SUV-like design cues, it’s the most car-like of any global Kia EV thus far.
It will join the EV3, EV5, EV6 and EV9, all of which are explicitly marketed as SUVs.
While we don’t have dimensions yet, the EV4 will nevertheless be Kia’s closest thing to a Tesla Model 3 or BYD Seal rival.
A GT model is expected, which is likely to feature a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain. It’s unclear if single-motor EV4s will feature front-wheel drive like the EV3 and EV5 or rear-wheel drive like the EV6.
Should it follow the EV3 closely, we can expect to see a 150kW/283Nm front-mounted electric motor with a choice of 58.3kWh or 81.4kWh batteries plus a 400V electrical architecture.
In front-wheel drive EV3 models, range is between 436km and 605km on the WLTP cycle, with a DC charge rate of either 102kW or 128kW depending on the battery.
