Chery’s Jaecoo brand is set to launch in Australia in May, and its first vehicle is a mid-sized SUV rival to the likes of the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander, and even the BYD Sealion 6.
The Jaecoo J7 will be available in four different variants from launch – two front-wheel drive variants, a single all-wheel drive variant, and a flagship plug-in hybrid variant.
Pricing starts from $34,990 drive-away for the J7 Core 2WD, and extends to $47,990 drive-away for the J7 SHS Summit plug-in hybrid.

J7 SHS
The Jaecoo J7 is built on Chery’s T1X platform that underpins the likes of the Chery Omoda 5, Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro Max.
When customer deliveries start in the first week of May, they will be sold at between 30 to 40 Omoda Jaecoo dealers. Yes, that’s right. The Omoda brand is also launching in Australia in the second half of 2025.
Not all Chery dealers will be Omoda Jaecoo dealers, but according to the brand, a large portion of them will be.
The Jaecoo brand is launching in Australia with an eight-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for the J7 range, along with eight years of capped-price servicing, and up to eight years of roadside assistance.

At launch, there are three petrol-powered variants on offer, as well as a single range-topping plug-in hybrid variant.
