Chinese brand Jaecoo is gearing up to launch in Australia, and it’s coming with just one vehicle at first: the J7 mid-sized SUV.
Founded in 2023, Jaecoo is owned by Chery and was established as a premium-leaning brand for export markets.
Its debut model in Australia is already on sale in China as the Chery Tansuo 06, where it’s available with a petrol engine with in front- or all-wheel drive configurations and with turbocharged petrol or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.
Locally, only two petrol-powered, front-wheel drive variants will be available at launch: the Core 2WD and Track 2WD.

A PHEV version – or Super Hybrid System (SHS) as Jaecoo calls it – and an all-wheel drive variants are also due to follow, with full Australian specifications to be revealed in March 2025.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed for any of the J7 variants coming to Australia.
Two distinct two-wheel drive variants have been detailed, Core and Track, which are expected to form the bottom of the J7 range.
The Core is expected to be priced between $35,000 and $40,000, with the Track also expected to slide in under $40,000.
