Skoda has teased its refreshed 2024 Octavia ahead of a reveal in February.
“The Škoda Octavia, our all-time bestselling Škoda Auto model, is about to get its latest update. Very soon we will be revealing it to the world – and here is a first peek at the new exterior design,” said Klaus Zellmer.
CarExpert understands the updated Octavia will arrive in Australia towards the end of 2024, or early 2025.

Based on the teaser video, the Octavia will gain a new LED daytime running light signature, while the chrome outline of the grille appears to be slimmer.
We can also make out what looks like a new wheel design, similar to that currently used on the RS. However, this teased example doesn’t appear to be an RS as its grille doesn’t have a blacked-out surround.
A liftback model is featured in the video and, though we can’t make out too many details down back, we can see the tail lights appear to have been revised.
Previous spy photos have indicated the Octavia will receive a larger infotainment touchscreen.
It’s hard to tell, but Skoda could adopt the latest full-screen digital instrument cluster from the upcoming Kodiaq.
Currently the Octavia has separate digital bars on either side of the instrument cluster for fuel and engine temperature readouts.
It’s unclear what changes are coming to the Octavia’s powertrain lineup. Diesels and plug-in hybrids are expected to continue but remain off the table for Australia, where the hatch and wagon are currently offered with a choice of turbocharged 1.4-litre or 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder engines.
Skoda is remaining tight-lipped about whether a next-generation Octavia with an internal-combustion engine will be produced as the company plans a heavy onslaught of electric cars from 2024.
Previously the brand said an electric station wagon would join the lineup in 2026, which may eventually replace the Octavia.
Skoda refers to its upcoming electric wagon as the “Combi” and says it will measure around 4700mm long, which puts it between the Octavia (4689mm) and Superb (4856mm).
The company’s local boss, Michael Irmer, has previously told CarExpert the brand has no plans to discontinue combustion-powered vehicles in Australia before the 2030s.
Nevertheless, it’s finally introducing electric vehicles (EVs) to Australia, with the Enyaq due here in 2024.
