MG 4 pricing is up for model year 2024 vehicles, shortly after the Chinese brand announced nationwide drive-away pricing which saw the electric hatch become Australia’s second-cheapest electric vehicle (EV).
All MG 4 variants bar the XPower see a $1000 increase over the pricing announced in March, though the vehicle is otherwise unchanged for 2024.
“We have updated MY24 pricing on the MG4 range with the exception of XPower,” said an MG Motor Australia spokesperson.
“There is still plenty of MY23 stock available across most variants around Australia at their previous MY23 prices.
“Like other markets and industries, our costs are going up as are the costs to do business so it is only natural that the MSRP prices will have to follow that trend, however, we have made a conscious decision to absorb those costs for some models when and where possible.”
Unlike the ZS EV, which uses a combustion-vehicle platform, the MG 4 sits on the brand’s modular and EV dedicated Scalable Platform which features rear-wheel drive and 50:50 weight distribution.
It rides on MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension.
